HT4641 CHURCH HISTORY IN AMERICA

A survey of Christianity in North America from colonial times to the present

Students will become acquainted with some of the increasing challenges of effective ministry in the most diverse country in the world, i.e. the United States of America. The history, culture, contributions, religion and family life of major minority groups will be surveyed. REQUIRED FOR M.DIV.– Two Credit Hours

 

HT4721 REFORMATION & MODERN CHURCH HISTORY

Causes and events leading up the Reformation with focus on its leaders and effects. Also covered are the Counter-Reformation, the Evangelical Revival and growth of the Protestant Church to the present. REQUIRED FOR M.DIV.- Two Credit Hours

 

HT4743 PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH HISTORY

A study of the origins and development of the Presbyterian Church with particular emphasis on the reasons for formation of the Presbyterian Church in America and its development. REQUIRED FOR M.DIV. – Two Credit Hours

 

HT4742 BAPTIST CHURCH HISTORY

A study of the origins and development of the Baptist Church with particular emphasis on the formation of major Baptist denominations in America and their development. Two Credit Hours

 

HT4721 ANGLICAN CHURCH HISTORY

A study of the origins and development of the Episcopal and the Anglican churches with particular emphasis on the reasons for the formation of the Anglican Missions in the Americas and its development. Two Credit Hours
